Help with your energy bills
Energy Price Guarantee
From 1 October 2022, a new ‘Energy Price Guarantee’ will reduce the unit cost of electricity and gas for UK households. This is automatic and applies to all households. Beware of scams – there is no need to apply and you will never be asked for bank details.
This is in addition to the £400 energy bills discount for all households.
Energy Bills Support Scheme
The government provided £400 off energy bills in Great Britain from October 2022 – March 2023 to help households through winter.
This discount was automatic and non repayable.
Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Funding
From February – May 2023, households who do not have a domestic electricity supply and were unable to receive support automatically through the Energy Bills Support Scheme could apply for support with their energy bill costs through the Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Funding (EBSS AF).
The scheme closed for new applications on 31 May 2023.
Any applicants who would like further assistance with an application they have already made should call our contact centre helpline on 0808 175 3287 (0808 175 3894 for Northern Ireland).
